Hurstville is the administrative centre of Georges River Council, and its main street, Forest Road, is one of the busiest commercial strips in the St George area. Westfield Hurstville anchors the shopping precinct with a cinema and a long run of dining options, and the suburb is known locally for its strong East and South-East Asian food scene, particularly around the streets just off Forest Road.
The housing here splits sharply in two. Around the train station, high-rise apartment towers have gone up over the last decade or so, replacing older low-rise buildings. Further out from the centre, character Federation homes are still common, and it’s mostly these older houses, along with renovations and rebuilds on their blocks, that make up our skip bin work in Hurstville. High-rise unit renovations usually go through building-managed waste contractors rather than a driveway skip, so our jobs here are concentrated in the house-and-townhouse streets rather than the tower blocks themselves.
Hurstville train station is a direct run into the CBD in around 20 minutes, which is part of why the area keeps building up. For us, that same road and rail corridor makes for a straightforward, direct delivery from Revesby, and same-day service is standard here.
Hurstville sits in the Georges River Council area. A bin on your own property doesn’t need approval. On the footpath, nature strip or road, the council requires a permit first. Tell us at booking and we’ll walk you through it.
