Auburn Road runs along the edge of Regents Park into neighbouring Birrong, and that’s where most residents go for everyday shopping, a small strip with a grocer, bakery, a couple of cafes and a hairdresser. For anything bigger, residents tend to head into Auburn, Bankstown or Chullora.
Regents Park isn’t fully in one council area. Most of the suburb sits in Cumberland Council, while the smaller pocket south-west of the Potts Hill pipeline falls under Canterbury-Bankstown Council. It’s one of the suburbs that straddles two council boundaries like this, and it shapes which permit desk a job goes through.
Housing is a mix here, older postwar brick and fibro cottages on the quieter streets, alongside newer townhouses and low-rise units closer to the station. That mix keeps our jobs varied, from a small cottage clean-out to a full renovation on the bigger blocks.
Right by Regents Park railway station on the Main Southern Line sits the Regents Park industrial estate, a pocket of warehouses and factory units that’s given this end of the suburb a light-industrial edge for decades, backing onto the bigger Chullora industrial area further along the line. We do a steady run of builders and renovation jobs around that pocket, alongside the household work on the residential streets.

Depending on your street, Regents Park sits in either Cumberland Council or Canterbury-Bankstown Council. A bin on your own property doesn’t need approval from either.
